Fausto has called NYC home since 1993. After completing his premed degree at Muhlenberg College and then applying to medical schools, Fausto surprised mom and dad with the news that he would instead pack his bags and head to NYC to pursue his dream – to perform in the great opera houses of the world. With a suitcase filled with his parents shattered dreams, Fausto left Allentown, PA to study classical voice at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music.
After graduation from MSM, Fausto found himself pounding the pavement, floating from one odd job to another. Desperate to perform, Fausto grudgingly agreed to accompany a friend to a musical theatre audition for a bus-and-truck national tour of Grease!. Long story short, the friend got cut at the final callback while Fausto soon found himself hand-jiving across the country (he and the friend are now estranged).
It didn't take long for Fausto to catch the theatre bug and he soon developed a love for musical theatre. Through touring, Fausto has had the privilege of performing in the country’s most beautiful venues including the St. Louis Fox, The Majestic in San Antonio, the Spokane Opera House, The Fox Theatre in Atlanta and the Providence PAC.
Fausto joined Actors’ Equity Association in 2000 and as a professional actor, has performed internationally and regionally as well as in his adopted home, New York City.
More recently, Fausto joined his brother (Miss Saigon Broadway alum, Juan Pineda) and sister-in-law (fellow MSM alum, Valerie Pineda), teaching and directing theatre and opera at their non-profit company, Pineda Conservatory of the Performing Arts.
Fausto is proud to help educate and nurture the country’s next generation of theatre professionals.
